LOUIS COUNTY, MISSOURI — The St. Louis community is reeling from heartbreak and disbelief after the tragic and senseless death of 14-year-old Du’wan Morgan, a bright and loving young boy whose life was cut short far too soon. On the evening of Wednesday, October 8, 2025, Du’wan was simply doing what any teenager might be doing after school — playing video games in his bedroom — when a bullet tore through the wall of his family’s home on Hobkirk Drive and ended his life in an instant.

According to St. Louis County Police, the gunfire erupted outside between two groups of teenagers. Du’wan was not the intended target — an innocent child caught in the crossfire of senseless violence. Inside the home at the time were his mother and two younger brothers, who were unharmed but left traumatized by the unimaginable tragedy. Witnesses reported seeing masked teens fleeing the area after the shots rang out. Officers responding to the scene discovered Du’wan fatally wounded, and nearby homes also showed signs of bullet damage. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
